How can you teach your heart to sing? Teach it to talk without fear.

Inside I was a child
That could not mend a broken wing
Outside I looked for a way
To teach my heart to sing

Alex asked me why I care about this U.S. election.  It is a legitimate question...
the real question is do I really have a legitamate answer...Could it be that
I support the Democratic Party of the U.S. more than most Democrats
in the U.S.  It is true that I was swept away by the hopes and ideals of
Camelot and the way that JFK and RFK were so unjustly taken away
from us.  I thought it was a loss for the world...For I saw these men as
ones who had taught not only their hearts to sing but they taught those who
were downtrodden to have hope and to speak with their heart that they were
deserving of the freedom that lady liberty promised...For those that were
even there before she was and were slaves in a nation of so-called freedom...
And so she said:

Not like the brazen giant of Greek fame,
With conquering limbs astride from land to land,
Here at our sea-washed, sunset gates shall stand

A mighty woman with a torch, whose flame

Is the imprisoned lightning, and her name
Mother of Exiles. From her beacon-hand
Glows world-wide welcome;
her mild eyes command
The air-bridged harbor that twin cities frame.
"Keep, ancient lands, your storied pomp!" cries she
With silent lips. "Give me your tired, your poor,
Your huddled masses yearning to breathe free,
The wretched refuse of your teeming shore.
Send these, the homeless, tempest-tost to me,
I lift my lamp beside the goden door!"

This is a hope, a belief,  a creed that at one time I and the whole
world associated with this nation...And then  after Lincoln died the
nation shifted again and as organizations such as the KKK and
NRA were dissolved their support went to one party while the
party of immigrants and former slaves became the Democrats...
And one hated the other....Just like brother went against brother there
was still a civil war in the country...The fear and hatred was still there
Many men of both sides had blood stained hands...But there were
those that believed in unity...And Reagan was a man that truly
united a nation...He lead with his heart and not the silent neo-cons or
powerful organizations...He always strayed to be inclusive and always
headed to meet everyone half way...  But look at your country...now look
where you have come in 4 years...disaster and unhappiness...there is no
unity...no one truly speaks with their heart...Only fear runs your world...
More fear than ever during communism...Ironic that communism kept
us safe...It's an economic system that focuses on aiding others economically...
There seems to be the greed that has been the focus of your people...It is
a sad reminder of the 80's...but like you threw the tea into the harbor at
Boston to protest Mercantilism...The north was the same to the South....
Their Mercatalistic ways made greedy southern farms need to capture
slaves...selling back clothing made from the cotten picked by african hands....
And yet they never shared the wealth...the prosperity...and it lead to anger,
crime, frustration, and escape.  But freedom through the underground railway
resulted in bounty hunters and lynching....So much blood spilled on your own
soil...and yet sometimes your blood spills away from you nation and you
ignore the pain and forget it...Destined to repeat the mistakes of the past...
to instil the anger and so corrupting your people...If you look back on your
past and see a happy place you are lucky...but if your brother does not...
Can you truly call yourself a family?
